Our education supply agency is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Welsh Language Medium (WLM) Teaching Assistants for supply work in schools across Conwy. This flexible role is ideal for confident Welsh speakers who are keen to support pupils’ learning, engagement, and wellbeing in Welsh-medium classrooms. Working on a supply basis, you will play a key role in assisting teaching staff and ensuring pupils are supported in a positive, inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for reliable and responsible individuals, who are passionate about working with children to help them strive and make their school experience a fun and safe environment by giving them the tools to reach their full potential.
Your responsibilities will be to support the teacher in delivering lessons and activities in a safe and engaging manner, assisting in the preparation of lesson plans and learning resources, and encouraging positive behaviour while supporting the teacher with classroom management.
Ideally, we ask for 3 months minimum experience working with children or have a child-based qualification. We do consider candidates who have transferable skills, this means having experience working in social care, coaching, or nursing.
As a Welsh Speaking Learning Support Assistant, you’ll be expected to:
- Have a good understanding of the Welsh Language
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
- Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
