Are you an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher looking for flexible supply work in Conwy? New Directions Education is working closely with local secondary schools to recruit committed Humanities teachers for supply roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs to gain valuable experience across a variety of school settings while maintaining flexibility. You’ll be supported by a dedicated consultant, offered competitive rates of pay, and given the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils across the curriculum.
New Directions have on-going supply teaching jobs for Humanities Teachers in all areas. These positions are available for qualified teachers who can teach Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5). Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) looking for teaching work should also apply. The Humanities Teacher role may require teaching of the following subjects: art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language and English literature, history, modern languages, music, philosophy, sociology and religious studies. This role has a focus on personal and social development and pastoral care. If you have an interest in all things anthropological, a humanities teaching post may be the right role for you.
As a Humanities Teacher you’ll be expected to:
- Hold QTS status
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Maintain discipline
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
- Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
