New Directions Education are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable
Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Supply Teachers to work in ALN schools, Provisions and SRB’s in the Caerphilly area.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified/newly qualified teachers who are passionate about supporting pupils with additional learning needs and who enjoy the flexibility of supply work.
You will work with students who have a range of additional learning needs, helping to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every learner can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with additional learning needs.
- Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to support individual learning requirements.
- Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, school staff, and other professionals.
- Implement and follow pupils’ Individual Development Plans (IDPs) or other support plans where appropriate.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement and independence.
- Maintain accurate records and provide feedback to schools on pupil progress and learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with children or young people with additional learning needs, either in mainstream or specialist settings.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, or moderate to severe learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of the Additional Learning Needs (ALN) framework in Wales.
