New Directions Education are one of the preferred suppliers to schools within Newport and we are extremely busy. We are looking to increase our bank of Art Teachers. We have long and short-term, full time and part-time vacancies available. You will be based in a secondary school providing education for pupils aged between 11-18.
To be considered for a role with New Directions you must:
- Have a genuine passion for teaching;
- All subjects considered;
- Be EWC registered;
- Be able to teach Key Stage3 (KS3)andKey Stage 4(KS4);
- Have a clear DBS;
- Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) are welcome to apply for this role.
Job Specification
If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced Art teacher, we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possible work at Key Stage 5 (KS5).
As an Art teacher you’ll be expected to:
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
- Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
