New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a motivated and engaging Humanities Teacher to work within a secondary school in Wrexham from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher to deliver inspiring lessons across the Humanities curriculum, helping students develop critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
The successful candidate will have strong classroom management skills, excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to engage learners across Key Stages 3 and 4. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an NQT looking to gain valuable classroom experience, we would love to hear from you.
The Humanities Teacher role may require teaching of the following subjects: art history, classical studies, creative writing, English language and English literature, history, modern languages, music, philosophy, sociology and religious studies. This role has a focus on personal and social development and pastoral care.
As a Humanities Teacher you’ll be expected to:
- Hold QTS status
- Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
- Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
- Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
- Maintain discipline
- Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
- Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
- Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
- Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
- Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
