New Directions Education are seeking a reliable and passionate Teaching Assistant for one of our partner Secondary Schools in Stretford. This is a support role based in KS3 and KS4, so experience of supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism and ADHD is essential. This is a long term full time role starting in September on a full time basis. We expect the role to go permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide learning support for students on a 1:1 or general basis.
- Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans, setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
- Establish trusting relationships with pupils with interactions according to individual needs and personalities.
- Work closely with SENCo and Class Teacher to ensure learning is tailored to the needs of pupils.
Personal Specification:
- Have experience supporting Secondary aged students.
- Have a strong understanding of SEND Needs such as: Autism and SEMH.
- Willing to support in the classroom as well as deliver targeted interventions centring on speech and language.
- Have an ability to use own initiative with an ability to ‘think on your feet’.
- Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
