New Directions are seeking an experienced Level 4 Teaching Assistant/HLTA to join a welcoming primary school in Trafford. This is a full-time role starting in September 2026 and will continue on a long-term basis.
The successful candidate will work across the school, supporting pupils from EYFS through to Key Stage 2. This varied role will include delivering planned interventions, providing classroom support, covering lessons when required and working closely with teachers to ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Provide high-quality classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Deliver planned interventions to individuals and small groups to raise attainment and confidence
- Cover classes in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-planned lessons where required
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring all children can access the curriculum
- Assist with assessment, pupil progress and classroom preparation
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents to promote a supportive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leaders across the school
The Candidate
- Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or HLTA status is essential
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school
- Confident supporting learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2
- Experience delivering interventions and covering classes is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- A flexible, proactive and positive approach to supporting teaching and learning
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
