We are recruiting dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants for long-term opportunities starting in
September 2026 at specialist SEND schools across the
Wirral .
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have experience working with pupils with additional needs in mainstream education and are looking to secure a stable, long-term role where they can make a meaningful difference every day.
The Role
You will provide
1:1 support to pupils with a range of complex additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and achieve their individual goals.
You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and wider school staff to deliver tailored support in a nurturing and structured environment.
You will be supporting pupils with
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Complex learning needs
- Communication and interaction difficulties
- Sensory and behavioural needs
We are looking for candidates who
- Have previous experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting.
- Are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Remain calm, patient, and resilient when supporting pupils with complex needs.
- Are committed to developing professionally within specialist SEND education.
- Are seeking a secure, long-term role with opportunities to grow.
