We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming school on the Wirral, supporting pupils with Autism and/or ADHD on both a 1:1 basis and in small group settings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children with additional needs. The role will initially be on a supply basis, with a strong possibility of securing a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or ADHD
- Delivering tailored support on a 1:1 basis and in small intervention groups
- Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism and ADHD
- Be patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Be adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
- Hold a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare/support experience (desirable but not essential); candidates who have a DBS registered on the update service is advantageous
