We are a specialist education recruitment agency working with welcoming primary schools across the Merthyr Tydfil area and are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our team. What you’ll do:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs (ALN).
- Assist the class teacher with learning activities, behaviour support, and differentiated tasks.
- Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour in line with school policies.
- Prepare resources, support with assessments/observations, and contribute to classroom routines.
- Foster pupils’ social, emotional, and communication skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting children (school, nursery, youth work, tutoring, sports coaching, or care).
- Understanding of ALN/ASN/SEN strategies (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH) is an advantage.
- Calm, patient and proactive approach with strong communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual and a team player who uses initiative.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE/NCFE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
