New Directions are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bolton from September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to take full responsibility for a Year 4 class, delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire pupils and support their academic, social, and emotional development.

The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with the National Curriculum, create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure all pupils achieve their full potential. The position is initially available from September 2026, with the potential to continue for the full academic year for the right candidate.

The School: A small Roman Catholic primary school in Farnworth, Bolton, serving children aged 4–11, with a strong emphasis on faith, inclusion, and community values. Known for its caring and supportive environment, where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially, and personally while being treated as valued individuals. Rated Good by Ofsted in 2024, with Outstanding judgements for personal development and early years provision.

The Role: Planned and delivered engaging lessons that supported pupils’ academic progress and personal development across the primary curriculum. Created a positive, inclusive classroom environment, promoting good behaviour, confidence, and a love of learning. Assessed pupil progress, provided constructive feedback, and worked collaboratively with colleagues and families to support individual learning needs.

The Candidate: Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential. Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
