We have partnered with a mainstream primary school in Smethwick who are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in their resource hub. This role is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting from September 2026 for a minimum of an academic year but likely will be extended and has potential for permanent, funding dependent.

The school operates a SEND support hub which is alongside interventions and time in their “home” classroom environment, giving the students a blended learning environment. This role will be to work as part of a settled friendly SEND support team alongside the SENCo and Teachers.

This role has become available due to additional funding attached to children with complex needs joining from September. For a successful applicant, school experience would be useful but not compulsory. We really encourage applicants from aspiring Teaching Assistants with prior SEND support experience from fields such as residential, support and care work.

This role will be Monday to Friday, working 8:30am to 3:30pm, during term-time only. The successful applicant will be paid a week in arrears at a daily rate (PAYE) from our in-house New Directions payroll from £92.63 to £101.03 dependent on experience and/or qualifications.

If interested, please apply today and our fantastic local Sandwell recruitment team will be in touch to discuss this vacancy in more detail with you.
