New Directions Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across North-East Leeds.

Using your sporting background, you’ll help motivate students, promote positive behaviour, and support learning both in and out of the classroom.
The Role
As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum.
- Work with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to boost confidence and attainment.
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, teamwork, and participation.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs.
- Assist with PE and other lessons, extracurricular activities, and school sports programmes.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor for young people.
- Help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Sports, Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related subject
Previous experience working directly with children or young people is essential (this could include schools, sports coaching, clubs, youth groups, holiday camps, tutoring, mentoring, or similar settings)
- A passion for supporting the development and wellbeing of young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, energetic, and proactive approach
- The ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students
- An interest in pursuing a career in education, teaching, or youth development is desirable
