New Directions Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate

SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with sensory needs to work within specialist provisions and schools across Leeds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about creating engaging, accessible learning experiences and helping pupils with complex additional needs reach their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including sensory processing difficulties.
  • Use sensory-based approaches and strategies to engage learners and promote positive outcomes.
  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • Monitor and assess progress, adapting learning programmes where required.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .

  • Previous experience teaching pupils with

Special Educational Needs (SEN) .

  • Experience supporting pupils with sensory needs and sensory-based learning approaches .
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and child-centred approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
