A potential full‑time opportunity is available for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the Leeds area from September. Part‑time arrangements are negotiable, and the role suits someone confident supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including complex learning profiles, communication difficulties and SEMH needs.
The Role
- Delivering high‑quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Creating structured, supportive environments that promote emotional regulation and engagement
- Leading targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication and social development
- Using adaptive teaching strategies such as visual supports, sensory tools and alternative communication methods
- Managing behaviour using trauma‑informed, proactive approaches
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams and external professionals
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, multi‑agency meetings and personalised support plans
- Tracking progress and maintaining accurate, reflective records
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Previous SEN experience in a specialist or mainstream setting
- Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
- Ability to adapt teaching for diverse and complex needs
- Resilience, patience and a child‑centred approach
