The Role

As a Primary Teaching Assistant with SEN responsibilities, you will

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
  • Adapt resources and teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
  • Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • What We’re Looking For

We are keen to hear from candidates who have

  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school, childcare, care, or support setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and adaptable in a busy classroom environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
