New Directions Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in primary and secondary schools across Chester. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils in their learning and helping them to reach their full potential in a supportive school environment. Due to the specifics of this role, candidates must be able to commit to 3 or more days per week.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
  • Promoting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Supporting with classroom preparation and resources
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting (desirable)
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
