New Directions Education are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Chester. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing tailored support to children with additional learning needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. The schools we work with are welcoming and inclusive, with strong support systems in place for both pupils and staff. Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Supporting pupils to access learning within the classroom
- Assisting with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
- Supporting the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans
- Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where required
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEND setting
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)
