New Directions Social Care are seeking caring, reliable, and compassionate Agency Care Assistants to join our growing team, supporting individuals across a range of care settings in Swansea, including residential homes, nursing homes, supported living services, and community care environments.
As an Agency Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of service users by providing person‑centred care, promoting independence, and supporting their daily living needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care and support to service users.
- Assist with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs.
- Support individuals with mobility and transferring where required.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration.
- Encourage independence and maintain dignity at all times.
- Offer companionship and emotional support.
- Monitor and report any changes in service users’ health or wellbeing.
- Complete accurate care records and documentation.
- Follow care plans, policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 6 months’ experience within a care or support role.
- A caring, compassionate, and professional approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and nights.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience working within residential care, nursing homes, supported living, or domiciliary care settings.
- Moving and Handling training.
- Medication Administration training.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
