Are you a Primary Teacher currently living in Cardiff and looking to expand your experience whilst working on supply in local Primary schools? If so, supply work is perfect for those wanting to experience different schools, maintaining flexibility around their work pattern and to improve your skillset before taking on a more permanent role. There are currently around 98 Primary Schools in Cardiff, and they are looking for enthusiastic teachers to engage with pupils and encourage new ways of learning alongside the Welsh Curriculum.

Working on supply will give you the opportunity to gain valuable experience, make long lasting relationships with local schools and have a positive impact on pupils' learning within the classroom. If you hold a UK Drivers Licence, then this will increase your opportunity of receiving work.

Job Specification

We are looking to recruit local primary school teachers to work in classes ranging from Nursery to Year 6. You will also have the opportunity to work within ALN Setting. As a Primary School Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the Welsh curriculum
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Be able to manage behaviour and maintain discipline
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils and provide fun engaging lessons
  • Communicate with staff members and provide regular updates on pupil’s progress
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
