New Directions Education is currently recruiting a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work within a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Bargoed area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupils both in the classroom and through small group or one-to-one interventions, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

  • Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils when required.
  • Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement with learning.
  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support children with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN), where appropriate.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Has experience working with children in a school, nursery or similar educational setting.
  • Is patient, caring and passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is proactive, reliable and adaptable.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential. Relevant experience will also be considered.
