About the Role
We are currently recruiting for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to work in schools across Bridgend. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing environment and make a real difference to their education and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils
- Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
- Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs (ALN)
- Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning
- Help manage behaviour in line with school policies
- Support pupils during lessons, break times, and school activities
- Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to track pupil progress
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based desirable)
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of additional learning needs (ALN) (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willing to register)
