Support Worker - Young Persons Supported Living

Make a Difference to Young People's Lives

New Directions Recruitment Agency is currently recruiting Support Workers to work within young persons' supported living services in the Pontypool area.

This is a rewarding opportunity for caring, reliable and experienced Support Workers who are passionate about helping young people develop their independence, build confidence and achieve their goals.

You will provide day-to-day support in a person-centred environment, encouraging young people to develop essential life skills while offering guidance, reassurance and positive encouragement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing person-centred support tailored to each young person's individual needs.
  • Supporting with daily routines, independent living skills and household tasks.
  • Encouraging education, employment, social activities and positive community engagement.
  • Supporting young people with appointments and activities.
  • Building positive, professional relationships and acting as a positive role model.
  • Following individual support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns or changes in wellbeing.
  • Promoting independence, confidence, dignity and choice at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months' relevant Support Worker experience.
  • A valid DBS is essential.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Previous experience working with young people is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient and professional approach.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins where required.
