New Design Group are a contract furniture manufacturer. Our office, warehouse and manufacturing is based in Gainsborough Lincolnshire, and we have a furniture showroom in Clerkenwell, London. Our mission is to design and manufacture furniture for human interaction. This comes not only through us providing outstanding furniture design but also well manufactured products and making our customers’ lives as easy as possible when they work with us.
*About the role:*
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Logistics Coordinator with a high level of organisation, excellent time management and attention to detail to ensure that client orders are shipped accurately and on time. The main function of the role is to ensure timely and efficient collection of goods from our supply chain and delivery of completed orders to our clients, both within the UK and overseas.
*Responsibilities include but are not limited to:*
* Plan, coordinate and communicate deliveries and collections using our own in-house vehicles and 3rd party logistic providers.
* Accurate completion of Vehicle Manifests and overview of vehicle dispatch.
* Provide drivers with clear and concise delivery instructions.
* Ensure that orders are complete prior to dispatch.
* Maximise vehicle loads to ensure efficiencies.
* Liaise with clients regarding delivery dates, requirements, constraints etc.
* Close communication with the Customer Services Team to ensure accurate order completion.
* To efficiently and accurately process all administrative duties within remit against daily/ weekly and monthly cut offs.
* To seek/ identify and implement continuous improvements in Logistics functions and processes.
*Key skills/experience:*
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to think strategically and make reasoned decisions. You will respond positively and proactively to problems and abnormalities such as missing information, inventory discrepancies, and shipment issues. You’ll have outstanding problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
* Background in logistics.
* Exceptional communication skills to effectively work with team members and to assist customers and suppliers with any potential queries they may have.
* Exposure to transport and delivery processes.
* The ability to organise work on own initiative and work under pressure.
* Computer literacy with experience of Sage and MS Office packages.
