Overview

What will you be doing? Crafting the Identity and SCA platform product set for your team, delivering new capabilities from requirements through to production – ensuring every solution meets the highest standards of security, reliability, compliance requirements, and customer trust. Working closely with business and technical teams to create clear product roadmaps, communicating progress, risks, and dependencies effectively across stakeholders. Analysing problems and business needs and writing user stories and supporting requirements that meet the teams’ Definition of Ready. Helping to define non‑functional requirements around resilience, performance, cost savings, etc. Innovate with our data scientists to apply machine learning/artificial intelligence for frictionless authentication services whilst reducing fraud, pushing the boundaries of innovative experiences across our digital spaces. Reporting progress and plans to NewDay leadership teams. Championing NewDay’s agile practices and promoting iteration, experimentation, and data‑driven decision‑making. Effectively influencing external partners to ensure initiatives in their domains are delivered to high quality, on time and within budgets. Contributing content to our Engineering and Product community (internal and external) to foster a culture of learning, growing and innovation.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to translate PSD2/3 and PCI DSS compliance requirements into secure, user‑friendly authentication products.
  • Expertise in open loop and closed loop secure payment systems (Mastercard, Outseer 3DS, etc) and the related regulations in identity such as FAPI Standards.
  • In‑depth knowledge of digital identity (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC) and multi‑factor authentication.
  • Proven track record of delivering API‑driven, cloud‑based identity and payment services at scale.
  • Experience of Product Ownership/Management in platform products.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, and teams and leverage these relationships to build consensus and deliver value.
  • Excellent prioritisation and decision‑making skills with demonstrable experience of building compelling change arguments, driving consensus, and managing business/backlog priorities.
  • Experience of working with challenging users and stakeholders to elicit product feedback, manage expectations, and drive the value perception of your product.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across both digital and the wider business.
  • Experience in multiple product delivery methodologies and demonstrable experience of applying the ‘best’ methodology based on the challenge/circumstance.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Azure services and architectures.
  • Experience of working in a complex change environment which encompasses multiple product areas and engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with data‑driven product experimentation and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Recognised agile qualifications.
  • Experience in contributing to the Development/Product community (either within a company or publicly).
