New College Swindon University Centre is looking for an HE Registrar to play a pivotal role in supporting our students from admission through to graduation.
This is a unique opportunity to combine registry leadership, operational management and governance responsibilities, ensuring our Higher Education provision remains compliant, efficient and student-focused.
Working closely with university partners and colleagues across the College, you'll help shape the student experience while ensuring the highest standards of academic administration and regulatory compliance.
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Higher Education registry, overseeing the student journey from admissions through to graduation.
- Ensure compliance with Office for Students (Of S), QAA, HESA and GDPR requirements, maintaining robust policies, procedures and student records.
- Coordinate academic administration, including assessment, progression and award boards.
- Manage complaints, appeals and academic misconduct processes in line with university regulations.
- Act as the key liaison with university partners, ensuring partnership agreements and academic regulations are effectively implemented.
- Lead timetabling, scheduling and operational planning for Higher Education programmes.
- Produce performance reports and analyse admissions, retention, achievement and progression data to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinate meetings, events, graduation arrangements and wider faculty activities.
- Support financial administration by monitoring budgets, processing purchase orders and assisting with forecasting and budget planning.
- Manage the planning and risk assessments for educational visits and residential activities.
What we're looking for
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- A degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in administration, operations or business management, ideally within Higher Education.
- Experience working within regulatory or compliance frameworks.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and university partners.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements.
- An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Experience of Higher Education regulations, university partnerships, Of S, QAA, HESA or student funding would be advantageous.
- A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.
