We're looking for a motivated
Electrical Assessor to join our Apprenticeships team.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your industry expertise to support apprentices in the workplace, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to achieve their apprenticeship and progress within the electrical industry.
Working closely with employers and curriculum colleagues, you'll assess apprentices in real work environments, provide coaching and guidance, and ensure learners remain on track to successfully complete their programme.
What you'll do
- Manage a caseload of Electrical apprentices, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey.
- Carry out workplace assessments, reviews and progress visits, ensuring apprentices achieve their full potential.
- Work closely with employers to monitor apprentice progress and provide advice on programme requirements.
- Assess learner evidence against apprenticeship standards and awarding organisation requirements.
- Support the recruitment, interview and initial assessment of prospective apprentices.
- Help learners build their portfolios and prepare for assessment and End Point Assessment where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate learner records, assessment schedules and compliance documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the Electrical curriculum team to support high-quality apprenticeship delivery.
- Support awarding body quality assurance activities and external verification visits.
- Ensure all activity complies with Health & Safety, safeguarding and funding requirements.
What we're looking for
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
- Industry experience within the electrical sector.
- Experience assessing or mentoring apprentices or trainees would be advantageous.
- An A1 Assessor Award (or equivalent) would be desirable.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage your own caseload.
- Experience working with employers and building positive professional relationships.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn College systems.
- A proactive approach with a passion for developing others.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as regular travel to employer premises is required.
