This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise in CNC machining, 3D printing, CAD and more, helping learners develop both the technical skills and confidence needed for successful engineering careers. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across practical workshops and classroom sessions, particularly within EAL apprenticeships.

What you’ll do:

  • Teach, assess, and support learners across Levels 1–5 in mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Deliver both practical and theoretical sessions in areas such as CNC programming, milling and turning, 3D printing, and CAD
  • Support learners in developing their technical understanding, employability, and problem-solving skills
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and course development to meet employer and industry needs
  • Provide excellent support, guidance, and feedback to help learners achieve their full potential
  • Embed core themes such as health and safety, equality, and British values within your teaching
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and assessment
  • Engage with employers to support apprenticeships and work-based learning opportunities

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one within an agreed timeframe, that we will provide the opportunity for).
  • Level 2 qualifications in English, Maths, and ICT (or willingness to achieve within timeframe)
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, turning, milling, advance turning, engineering drawing, CAD and maintenance & assemblies. , CAD/CAM, and CNC programming
  • Experience teaching or mentoring others
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A flexible, collaborative, and proactive approach to teaching and learning
