Temporary Lecturer – English and Communication

We are currently inviting applications for the temporary post of Lecturer in the Department of Humanities. The remit of the role will include delivery of English and Communication SQA qualifications to level 7. As a key member of the Department within a dedicated curricular area, you will ensure a positive learning experience and effective delivery within your area of responsibility.

On a practical level, applicants will hold a relevant qualification at SCQF 9 and a relevant teaching qualification that would enable registration with GTCS. Applicants will also be experienced education professionals with the skills to teach within the curricular provision of the Department.

The role will encompass a range of responsibilities within the College and it is expected that the postholder will provide the knowledge and expertise to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum. This will include:

1. Teaching
2. Assessment
3. Administration
4. Development
5. Personal Development

The post is temporary and successful candidates will be placed on NCL’s Lecturer Bank with delivery hours dependent on exigencies of the organisation. Please note this post may involve cross-campus travel with a main base to be confirmed.
