Got a passion for two wheels, a mechanic's touch, and an eye for perfection? Here at our Rayleigh dealership, we believe every used motorcycle deserves to be mechanically sound and visually stunning. We're on the hunt for a hands-on, multi-skilled Motorcycle Technician & Detailer to join our growing team. This is a crucial dual role: it's not just about cleaning bikes, it's about being the key person who takes them from arrival, through the workshop for prep, and finishes them to a standard that impresses on our showroom floor.
You’ll be the wizard behind the whole preparation process. You’ll be working in the workshop and in the detailing bay, ensuring every bike is as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. If you love getting stuck into a service, have a keen eye for cosmetic detail, and thrive on seeing a job done right from start to finish, this is the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Technical & Mechanical Prep: Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), basic servicing (oil, filters, chain adjustments), and safety checks to ensure every bike is road-ready.
- Fault Finding & Fitting: Identify and report any further mechanical or electrical faults to the senior workshop team; assist with fitting approved accessories or swapping components.
- Transformative Detailing: Dive deep into cleaning, polishing chrome, buffing paintwork, and bringing out that showroom shine on every bike.
- Cosmetic Revival: Tackle imperfections – Minor paint touch-ups, and surface restoration to make each bike look its absolute best.
- Workshop to Showroom Flow: Take ownership of the bike's preparation journey, working seamlessly with the sales and workshop team to ensure every motorcycle is 100% ready for its new owner.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven Mechanic Skills: You have practical, hands-on experience with motorcycle maintenance, servicing, and basic repairs. The 'Mechanic: 2 years (required) experience' is a strong indicator here.
- Motorcycle Savvy: You’re not just a cleaner or a mechanic; you understand motorcycles inside and out and are comfortable working on a wide variety of models.
- Eagle Eye for Detail: You spot what others miss, whether it’s a loose bolt or a slight scuff in the paint.
- Passion for Bikes: This isn’t just a career; it’s an extension of your love for two wheels.
- Hands-On & Proactive: You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, solve problems, and take initiative to get the bike right.
- Team Player: You’ll be an integral part of our close-knit team, working well with everyone to achieve a common goal.
- Pride in Your Craft: You take immense satisfaction in seeing a bike fully prepped, running sweetly, and looking perfect, knowing your work made it happen.
Why Join Our Rayleigh Family?
- Work on Awesome Bikes: You’ll be hands-on with a diverse range of motorcycles every single day.
- Develop Your Skills: We’re keen to support your growth, offering opportunities as we grow as a business.
- Shape Our Standard: You’ll play a key role in how we present our bikes, contributing to our reputation for quality.
- Be Part of the Ride: Join a friendly, passionate team who share your enthusiasm for motorcycles and value quality workmanship.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and help us ensure every motorcycle that leaves our workshop is a true head-turner, we’d love to hear from you!
