Overview
The Role: New City College, Ardleigh Green is looking for a Media Technician. As our Media Technician, you will have a vital role in supporting our students and staff across our Level 1 to Level 3 Media courses. New City College was recently endorsed by ScreenSkills for our work with industry partners, we were recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted and we have a network of contacts in world-leading companies such as Framestore and Four Agency. Responsibilities
- A media production or related qualification or good industry experience
- Provide specialist support in our TV and Radio studios
- Maintain and operate equipment including our multi-camera equipped TV studio, our Radio studio and items in our kit room
- Managing the equipment loan service to ensure students have fair access to department equipment
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite to use in skills building workshops
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the department
- Purchase items that are needed in the department and manage equipment budgets
- Contributing to the wider needs of the Creative department, which will include filming and editing events, and working closely with the team on our end of year celebration
Who You Are
- A person with a creative and technical mindset, passionate about the media
- A practical approach to electrical and technical installations
- Experience working with the Adobe Suite
- Experience working with live broadcast equipment, or the ability to learn on the job, supporting our teaching staff in our studios
- A problem solver who takes a proactive approach to resolving issues
- The ability to support and inspire students in workshop settings
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a creative environment
- Someone with strong organisational skills, able to prepare materials and set up/check equipment for use in practical lessons
- Strong timekeeping skills
- A team player, willing to work with young people
