Overview
New City College, Ardleigh Green is looking for a Games Technician. You will support students and staff across Level 3 Games courses. The college has strong industry links and partnerships with organisations such as Framestore and Four Agency.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist support in Games rooms and IT rooms.
- Maintain and operate equipment including graphics tablets and computer facilities.
- Manage the equipment loan service to ensure fair access for students.
- Use knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite in skills building workshops.
- Work with 3D software such as Blender and Maya. Knowledge of Unity and Unreal Engine is advantageous but not essential.
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the department.
- Purchase items needed in the department and manage equipment budgets.
- Contribute to the wider needs of the Creative department, including filming and editing events, and support the end-of-year celebration.
Who You Are
- A creative and technically-minded person passionate about media and games.
- Ability to manage computer installations.
- Experience working with the Adobe Suite.
- Ability to learn on the job and support teaching staff in classes.
- Proactive problem solver who can resolve issues and support/inspire students in workshop settings.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a creative environment.
- Strong organisational skills to prepare materials and set up equipment for practical lessons.
- Strong timekeeping skills and a team player attitude, able to work with young people.
