We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Performing Arts Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide efficient support to lecturing staff and students, including supervision, instruction, and assessment. This role involves collaboration with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues across the College, as well as active participation in professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Equipment and Software Use: Show students how to use equipment and software as directed.
  • Supervise Learning Activities: Oversee students’ activities in classrooms, workshops, and studios.
  • Prepare Materials and Equipment: Get materials and equipment ready for courses, demonstrations, practical work, and exams.
  • Manage Inventory: Handle the inventory, issue, and return of equipment and resources.
  • Assemble and Maintain Equipment: Set up and dismantle lighting and sound rigs, and install, check, and maintain new equipment.
  • Ensure Smooth Theatre Operations: Organise rigging, lighting, sound equipment, props, and scenery for performances, and operate sound, lighting, and other effects during performances.

Who You Are:

You should have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, or possess high-standard industry experience in related fields. Experience in sound engineering, theatre lighting, set building, or similar roles in an educational environment is required. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, awareness of diverse students\’ needs, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and commitment to equal opportunities are essential.
