At New City College's Epping Forest campus, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inspiring environment where students can achieve their ambitions. We are now seeking a Pastoral Tutor to join us on a permanent, part time basis, working 21 hours each week. In this role, you will provide weekly group tutorials and one‑to‑one sessions that encourage learners to set goals, overcome challenges, and remain focused on their studies. You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to monitor attendance, identify students who may be at risk, and ensure they receive the right support. Beyond academic progress, you will contribute to enrichment activities, promote wellbeing, and help to build a positive and inclusive campus culture that reflects the diverse community of Epping.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging weekly group tutorials that support personal development and wellbeing.
- Provide one‑to‑one support to students, setting and reviewing SMART targets.
- Monitor attendance and engagement, identifying and supporting at‑risk learners.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and support teams to ensure student success.
- Support students with progression planning, including UCAS and work experience.
- Contribute to enrichment activities and promote a positive campus culture.
Working Hours and Schedule
21 hours per week (term time only, 40 weeks per year). Start and finish times vary between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, depending on the timetable. Term begins mid‑August (around GCSE results week) and runs through mid‑July.
