We are looking for a senior Infrastructure and Security Engineer to provide technical ownership and escalation across core platforms in a complex, multi-campus environment. The role involves managing and supporting multi-site network systems to ensure a single cohesive network model is consistent across all the College's campuses to include but not limited to: wide area networks, network and security platforms, storage, backups and DR/BCP.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the deployment, operational, and ongoing optimisation of the multi-site VMware and Omnissa VDI estate.
- Operate and evolve large-scale, multi-campus network infrastructure, acting as a senior technical escalation point (Juniper experience preferred).
- Own the operational management of Microsoft 365 and Entra environments, ensuring availability, security, and alignment with agreed standards.
- Apply network security controls, including firewalls and segmentation, to protect services and manage risk across campuses.
- Lead proactive security operations, including threat awareness, remediation, and the development of improvement proposals through formal processes.
- Contribute to the development of infrastructure and security improvement initiatives by producing technical designs, risk assessments and implementation plans for review and approval.
- Design, configure and support LAN/WAN services across all campuses, ensuring resilience, performance and security.
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex or high-impact infrastructure, network and security issues, providing hands-on support where appropriate.
