We are seeking an exceptional senior leader to join New City College as our Group Curriculum Director for Early Years, Health Sciences and Social Care. This pivotal role will lead the development of a forward‑looking curriculum strategy that aligns with our curriculum intent and responds proactively to national curriculum reforms. You will shape strategic direction across multiple campuses, drive high‑quality teaching and learning, and ensure our provision remains innovative, inclusive and sector‑leading. The successful candidate will play a key role in elevating performance, designing impactful and future‑focused programmes, and building strong, collaborative partnerships with employers and industry stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic development of curriculum across Early Years, Health Sciences and Social Care.
  • Work with internal and external partners to shape a forward‑thinking, employer‑responsive curriculum offer.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment across multiple campuses.
  • Drive achievement rates across all provision, taking decisive action to improve underperforming areas.
  • Lead budget planning and ensure effective financial management.
  • Line‑manage, support and develop cross‑campus staff, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance culture.
  • Use performance data to monitor progress and inform decision‑making.
  • Represent the college externally, deputising for senior leaders where required.
  • Teach 8 hours per week as part of your ongoing commitment to maintaining excellent pedagogical practice.
  • Contribute to whole‑college operations including duty management, enrolment and exam support.

Who You Are

  • A degree and relevant professional teaching qualifications.
  • Significant experience in curriculum management with a strong track record of impact.
  • Excellent knowledge of the FE sector, including the key issues facing 14–19 and adult learners.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Confidence in leading, developing and motivating staff across multiple campuses.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • The ability to drive long‑term strategy while maintaining high operational performance.
