We are seeking an experienced and highly organised professional to lead and coordinate the governance, administration, and operational management of New City College’s capital programme. The role plays a central part in ensuring that capital projects and long‑term estate development are delivered with strong governance, effective assurance, and robust reporting arrangements aligned to the College’s strategic objectives. Working closely with the Group Director, senior stakeholders, project boards, finance teams, and external partners, you will provide oversight, structure, and clarity across a complex portfolio of development and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain effective governance, assurance, and reporting arrangements for the College’s capital programme, ensuring alignment with strategic and statutory requirements.
- Manage and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), promoting consistent, high‑quality project administration and reporting across all capital projects.
- Provide governance and administrative support to programme and project boards, including coordination of meetings, preparation of papers, and maintenance of accurate records.
- Support strategic planning and senior decision‑making through the production of management reports, dashboards, and performance information.
- Coordinate and manage day‑to‑day operational activity across the capital programme, supporting projects from initiation through to completion.
- Lead procurement activity and support financial management of capital projects in compliance with relevant regulations and College procedures.
- Ensure robust information management, document control, and audit readiness across the capital programme.
Who You Are:
You are a confident and detail‑focused professional with strong experience supporting and managing governance and administrative functions within complex organisations, ideally in a public‑sector, education, or capital project delivery environment. You bring a clear understanding of project governance, public procurement and statutory compliance, alongside excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable working with senior leaders and boards, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining high standards of accuracy under pressure. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and ideally hold, or be working towards, a recognised project or programme management qualification. Experience within Further or Higher Education and familiarity with public‑sector capital funding frameworks would be an advantage.
What We Offer:
- Pension: New City College provides a career average pension scheme for all staff (TPS or LGPS).

- On-Site Facilities: Free access to on-site gym facilities at some campuses and on-site cafes serving subsidised food and drinks.
- Staff Development: Five CPD (Continuing Professional Development) days per year, with access to industry-standard facilities and a collaborative working environment, leading to opportunities for career advancement and professional development in a supportive setting.
- Financial Perks: Interest-free loans for annual travel season tickets. Health cash plan (reimbursement for dental, optical, and therapy treatments) and a completely confidential Employee assistance program.
- Discounts: Save money on day-to-day expenses, shopping, dining out, DIY, and travel.
