The Role:
The A Level Computer Science Teacher plays a key role in delivering high-quality teaching A Level Computer Science, contributing to the wider curriculum and supporting students through both academic and pastoral responsibilities. The role involves shaping engaging learning experiences, maintaining high standards of educational practice, and actively contributing to curriculum development in line with national requirements and local needs. As a valued member of the College teaching team, the post holder supports key processes such as admissions, induction, assessment, and student progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Year 1 and Year 2 OCR A Level Computer Science, with the option to contribute to related subjects.
- Develop engaging, student-centred learning experiences that promote strong achievement, retention and progression.
- Produce and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, and clear learning outcomes aligned with college and national requirements.
- Provide academic and pastoral support as a personal tutor or course coordinator.
- Participate in student recruitment, including interviewing, admissions, and induction activities.
- Deliver constructive feedback and track learner progress effectively.
- Maintain accurate course and assessment records and support annual programme evaluation.
- Collaborate with colleagues on course design, delivery, and review.
- Liaise with employers, universities and external organisations regarding student opportunities.
- Adhere to policies relating to safeguarding, equality, health and safety, GDPR, examinations and professional standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and attend relevant training or conferences.
