New City College is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and industry-qualified Lecturer in Motor Vehicle to join our dynamic curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise and inspire learners on courses ranging from Entry Level to Level 3, including college-based and work‑based qualifications for both young people and adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Entry Level to Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles.
  • Teach and assess both theory and practical components in alignment with City & Guilds standards.
  • Act as a personal tutor and mentor, providing academic and pastoral support to a diverse cohort of learners.
  • Design and deliver flexible, employer‑responsive training programmes.
  • Ensure the delivery of qualifications is compliant with awarding body standards and requirements.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course reviews, and quality improvement processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with employers and industry partners.
  • Support the growth of the Motor Vehicle provision by promoting the College's services and identifying training needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed) or willingness to achieve one.
  • Assessor award (A1 or equivalent) is essential; V1 Internal Verifier qualification desirable.
  • Proven experience in delivering Motor Vehicle Engineering training and assessment.
  • Ability to design engaging, learner‑centred teaching strategies and materials.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
