The Role:

New City College is seeking a committed and inspiring Lecturer in Business to join our dynamic teaching team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education across a range of business programmes, including college-based qualifications and workforce development, from entry level to Level 3 and foundation degree level.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of our learners aged 14–19 and adult students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for academic and career success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching across a range of business subjects, including BTEC and foundation degree programmes.
  • Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator, supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development in line with national standards, local needs, and employer expectations.
  • Prepare and assess learning materials, monitor student progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in student recruitment, admissions, enrolment, and induction processes.
  • Liaise with employers and external agencies to support student placements and career progression.
  • Maintain accurate course records and contribute to quality assurance and review processes.
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.

Who You Are:

  • A degree in Business or a related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching a broad range of business subjects, particularly within the RQF BTEC Business Framework.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills, with a student-centred approach to teaching.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
