We are seeking an experienced and highly organised professional to lead and coordinate the governance, administration, and operational management of New City College's capital programme. The role plays a central part in ensuring that capital projects and long‑term estate development are delivered with strong governance, effective assurance, and robust reporting arrangements aligned to the College's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain effective governance, assurance, and reporting arrangements for the College's capital programme, ensuring alignment with strategic and statutory requirements.
- Manage and oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), promoting consistent, high‑quality project administration and reporting across all capital projects.
- Provide governance and administrative support to programme and project boards, including coordination of meetings, preparation of papers, and maintenance of accurate records.
- Support strategic planning and senior decision‑making through the production of management reports, dashboards, and performance information.
- Coordinate and manage day‑to‑day operational activity across the capital programme, supporting projects from initiation through to completion.
- Lead procurement activity and support financial management of capital projects in compliance with relevant regulations and College procedures.
Qualifications
You are a confident and detail‑focused professional with strong experience supporting and managing governance and administrative functions within complex organisations, ideally in a public‑sector, education, or capital project delivery environment. You bring a clear understanding of project governance, public procurement and statutory compliance, alongside excellent organisational and stakeholder engagement skills. You are comfortable working with senior leaders and boards, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining high standards of accuracy under pressure. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and ideally hold, or be working towards, a recognised project or programme management qualification. Experience within Further or Higher Education and familiarity with public‑sector capital funding frameworks would be an advantage.
