Join Our Science & Chemistry Teaching Team at New City College. Part-time at Poplar Campus; Full-time at Redbridge & Havering Campuses. We’re looking for enthusiastic and innovative Lecturers to deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across multiple Science programmes.

The Role

You’ll deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality teaching across a range of Science programmes—from BTEC Applied Science (Levels 1–3) and Access to HE, to GCSE Science for adult learners. You’ll work with both 14–19 learners and adult students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess learners from Entry Level to Level 3
  • Deliver outstanding Chemistry and Science lessons across various levels
  • Act as a personal tutor/course coordinator, supporting student progress and wellbeing
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support
  • Engage with employers and external agencies to enhance student opportunities
  • Participate in college-wide initiatives including safeguarding and equality & diversity
  • Support recruitment, induction, and tracking processes
  • Maintain accurate course records and contribute to quality assurance
