Are you a numbers person who loves keeping things organised and running smoothly? We're looking for a friendly and reliable Finance Officer/Manager to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our day-to-day financial operations.

What you'll be doing

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day management and support to a part-time Bookkeeper.
  • Inputting into financial and wider business strategy.
  • Managing payroll and expense processes.
  • Processing invoices and payments accurately and on time.
  • Managing supplier and customer accounts, including rents for our properties/services.
  • Reconciling bank accounts and financial transactions.
  • Assisting with monthly financial reports and budget monitoring.
  • Responding to finance-related queries from colleagues and external contacts.
  • Helping to maintain accurate financial records and systems.
  • Supporting audits and ensuring compliance with financial procedures.

Your working hours

This position is for 24 hours per week. Ideally, we would like these hours to be spread across the working week, but we can discuss exact working arrangements. We'd also foresee this role being largely office based, with the possibility of some working from home, but again that is open for discussion.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate:

  • Has previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role (ideally equivalent to at least three years).
  • Has experience of managing payroll for at least 100 employees
  • Has experience of line managing or mentoring team members
  • Has excellent IT skills, with knowledge of MS Excel and financial and payroll software. Experience of using BrightPay and Xero would be advantageous.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and enjoys working with numbers.
  • Is organised, proactive and able to manage their workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is a confident communicator who enjoys building positive working relationships.
  • Can work independently while also being a supportive team member.
