We are seeking an experienced full-time support worker to work in the Lockleaze area to assist the people we support to gain independent-living skills within a safe and friendly environment.
A full driving licence and previous experience supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and behaviours that may challenge in a supported living setting are essential.

About the support worker role
Our support workers:
- Encourage the people we support to participate in their chosen activity or follow their interests.
- Co-ordinate scheduled activities for the people we support, using personalised rotas, liaising with others and ensuring facilitated activities and appointments are attended.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming, while respecting dignity and privacy, and/or support or prompt service users to undertake their personal care (as appropriate).
- Implement behaviour management strategies when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Update and maintain accurate records and take the lead in developing care plans.
Role requirements
We are seeking someone who has:
- Experience as a support worker in a supported living setting, as well as a strong desire to work with people who have mental health concerns, learning disabilities and/or display challenging behaviour.
- The ability to remain calm, empathetic and level-headed in all situations, particularly if faced with challenging behaviour.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, as you will be supporting people who use various methods of communication.
- Good basic comprehension of the English language, literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Ongoing commitment to your own personal development and training.
