New Chapter Tuition is recruiting Psychology and Criminology graduates to work as Entry Level Tutors in Redcar. This role is ideal for aspiring clinical psychologists, youth justice workers, and teachers seeking practical experience working with children and young people with additional needs.
You will provide 1:1 support to learners with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, and those who may be disengaged from or excluded from mainstream education. Sessions are delivered in community-based settings including homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions.
Mandatory Training Programme
- All Entry Level Tutors must complete a compulsory training programme before working independently:
- 30–45 hours of structured training
- Includes learning modules, reflective tasks, and assessed activities
- Covers SEND, SEMH, ADHD, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, behaviour support, and nurture-led tutoring
- Full guidance and support provided throughout training
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1:1, nurture-led tutoring and emotional support
- Apply psychological and behavioural understanding to support engagement
- Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs
- Support emotional regulation, confidence, and progress
- Build strong, trusting relationships with learners

- Strong interest in SEND, mental health, behaviour, or youth justice
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable groups
- Understanding of SEMH, ADHD, or trauma-informed approaches
