New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a GCSE Tutor to support secondary-aged learners across Merton who are unable to fully access mainstream education. You'll deliver 1:1 tuition in community settings, supporting learners with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, or at risk of exclusion. This is a rewarding outreach role focused on engagement, confidence-building, and GCSE progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 GCSE tuition (English, Maths, on occasions Science)
- Deliver sessions in community settings (home, library, learning hub, alternative provision)
- Adapt learning to meet emotional, behavioural, and academic needs
- Build positive relationships to support engagement
- Monitor progress and liaise with families and professionals
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
- Strong knowledge of the UK GCSE curriculum
- Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Confident working independently in outreach settings
