New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a GCSE Tutor to support secondary-aged learners across Merton who are unable to fully access mainstream education. You'll deliver 1:1 tuition in community settings, supporting learners with SEMH, ADHD, anxiety, or at risk of exclusion. This is a rewarding outreach role focused on engagement, confidence-building, and GCSE progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 GCSE tuition (English, Maths, on occasions Science)
  • Deliver sessions in community settings (home, library, learning hub, alternative provision)
  • Adapt learning to meet emotional, behavioural, and academic needs
  • Build positive relationships to support engagement
  • Monitor progress and liaise with families and professionals

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
  • Strong knowledge of the UK GCSE curriculum
  • Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Confident working independently in outreach settings
  • Right to work in the UK
