New Chapter Tuition is recruiting a Dyslexia Specialist Tutor to deliver 1:1 Maths and English support to children and young people with dyslexia in Middlesbrough. This is a rewarding, flexible role ideal for tutors, teachers, or education professionals with experience supporting learners with specific learning difficulties (SpLD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 dyslexia-focused tuition using structured, multisensory approaches
- Plan and adapt sessions in line with EHCPs, learning plans, and individual needs
- Support literacy skills including reading, writing, spelling, memory, and organisation
- Build positive, confidence-boosting relationships with learners
- Monitor progress and liaise with families, schools, and professionals
Essential Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with dyslexia or SpLD preferred OR recent degree in a relevant subject such as Education or Psychology
- Knowledge of the UK curriculum and evidence-based literacy interventions
- Ability to deliver structured, personalised 1:1 sessions
- Patient, nurturing, and learner-centred approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
