New Chapter Tuition is seeking a passionate Autism Specialist Tutor to deliver high-quality 1:1 support to autistic children and young people across Middlesbrough. Responsibilities
- Provide tailored educational and developmental support, working in environments such as homes, libraries, learning hubs, or alternative provisions.
- Deliver 1:1, autism-specific tutoring tailored to individual strengths and needs.
- Plan and adapt sessions in line with EHCPs, support plans, and individual learning goals.
- Build trusting relationships that support emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement.
- Use structured, predictable, and flexible approaches to support learning and wellbeing.
- Monitor progress and communicate effectively with families, schools, and professionals.
Requirements
- Experience supporting autistic children or young people in Middlesbrough or similar settings.
- Understanding of the UK curriculum with the ability to adapt learning flexibly.
- A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach with strong communication skills.
- Confidence planning and delivering personalised, learner-centred sessions.
