SEN Tutor – Lewisham
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Salary: £25.00–£35.00 per hour + paid planning and preparation time
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time opportunities
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00-16:00

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting experienced SEN Tutors and education professionals to deliver 1:1 tuition to children and young people across Lewisham.
We currently have several new tuition packages available, ranging from 10–15 hours per week, with the opportunity to support additional learners and build a fuller weekly timetable.
Our learners may be unable to access mainstream education or require individualised support due to SEND, SEMH, anxiety or other barriers to education.
The Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will:
- Deliver engaging 1:1 English and Maths tuition
- Adapt sessions to the learner's individual ability, interests and needs
- Support learners working below age-related expectations
- Build confidence and positive engagement with education
- Support young people with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
- Plan and prepare individualised learning activities
- Monitor progress and complete regular tuition reports
- Work towards EHCP outcomes where applicable
Tuition is delivered face-to-face within the learner's home or an agreed community setting across Lewisham.
About You
We would love to hear from:
- Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS)
- Experienced SEN Tutors
- HLTAs
- Education professionals experienced in delivering 1:1 interventions
You should have experience supporting children or young people and be confident adapting your approach for learners with additional needs.
A calm, patient and relationship-led approach is essential.
