Qualified Teacher / SEN Tutor – Lewisham
Location: Lewisham, South East London
Pay: £25–£35 per hour PAYE + paid PPA (1 hour per 5 tuition hours), equivalent to £30–£42 per tuition hour including PPA
Hours: Flexible Part-Time / Full-Time Opportunities
New Chapter Tuition is recruiting Qualified Teachers and experienced SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to children and young people aged 5–25 across Lewisham.
We support learners who may be unable to access mainstream education or require a personalised approach due to Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, EBSA and other SEND needs.
Tuition may cover Primary, KS3, KS4, GCSE and Functional Skills, and is delivered in homes, libraries, community venues, schools and alternative provision settings.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition
- Plan lessons around individual needs, abilities and EHCP outcomes
- Support academic progress, confidence and re-engagement
- Adapt teaching for SEND and individual learning needs
- Complete progress and session reports
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of tutoring experience – essential
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND – essential
- QTS/QTLS or strong teaching background - preferred
- Strong knowledge and experience of the UK curriculum
- Confident planning and delivering tuition independently
- Patient, adaptable and relationship-led approach
- Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
